This is one of the most popular dives at Playa Chica and on Lanzarote and it is home to one of the most famous animals on the island. He is know by many names including Felix and Geroge; he is the big dusky grouper that lives in the the cathedral. On the way to the cathedral there is a sandy eel garden, the vertical walls with hidden wildlife to be observed and the chance to look into the blue because who knows what might be passing by, rays, tuna, dolphins to name just a few. Before the cave there is also a branch of black coral which usually grows at much deeper depths. There really is something for everyone as there is even a small boat wreck. What more could you ask for in 1 dive!
The Eye is a good 10-12minutes swim, however with the Suex Xjoy 2 Scooters we are able to get there in about 6 minutes, this is one of the deeper dives to 40m and well worth the swim. WE have to travel via two big bays and we are never sure what might turn up, this couls be Mola Mola (Sun Fish or Manta Rays keeping a look out into the blue is always worth the effort..
