Open Water Instructor - the third professional diver level where you use your knowledge, skills and experience to teach others how to learn to dive!
It is the cornerstone professional certification!
There are two parts to becoming an SSI Open Water Instructor.
The first part is the SSI Instructor Training Course where you learn the knowledge and skills required to organise and conduct entry-level
scuba diving courses, such as the Open Water Diver Course, and the Specialty Instructor courses that SSI Open Water Instructros can teach, such as the SSI Perfect Buoyancy.
The second part is the SSI Instructor Evaluation which assesses the knowledge and skills learnt on the Instructor Training Course.

Course Duration: 14-16 days
Course Structure:
Digital Learning - to be completed beforehand
Academic Sessions - to apply the knowledge learnt in a real world environment and understand the role of a professional
Practical Application Sessions - further develop your professional skills and experience. Be evaluated on your ability to conduct academic and in-water sessions and evaluate student divers, and more.
Minimum Number of Dives required for certification:
A minimum of 75 logged open water dives totalling 50 hours or more are required to start the course and a minimum of 100 logged dives totalling 65 hours or more are required for certification.
We suggest coming with the minimum so that you concentrate on your learning and development as an instructor rather than worrying about have I got enough dives for certification.
